TITLE: BARBACK
REPORTS TO: MANAGER / GENERAL MANAGER
Job Overview:
PURPOSE: Help the bartender in the stocking, prepping, cleaning and organization of all bar areas and bar storage areas.
General Responsibilities:
• Arrive punctually, in a complete, clean and presentable uniform according to the guidelines set in the Barback Manual.
• Makes sure all bars are stocked completely before, during and at the end of their shift based on all par levels provided.
• Sets up all bar areas including, but not limited to storage areas, walkins, draft coolers, beer bottle coolers, bars, etc.
• Arranges and cleans bottles.
• Refills and prepares all batch drinks based on supplied recipes.
• Makes garnishes (ie limes) and rotates according to date and time of preparation.
• Makes sure all service areas are full of ice at all times.
• Stocks all package and draft beer at all times.
• Empties all trash cans by the time they are ¾ full and replaces bags at all times.
• Keeps supply of bevnaps, straws, stirrers, etc. according to Par levels set.
• Keeps the bar, bar tables, speed rail, and floor area clean and dry.
• Cleans any spillage and removes any broken glass and full bus tubs.
• Stocks bar supplies to par.
• Places and restocks garnishes in the pre-established places before and during service.
• Maintain stock of beer, wine, and liquor during shift.
• Is well acquainted with the Food and Beverage Menu as well as table numbers. Serves food to the guests based on order slip when Bartender is busy.
• Restocks cups and glassware.
• Restocks all product, etc. and cleans bar areas and floor during and at the end of shift.
• Cleans the Bar and Bars stools as needed.
• Reports to the MOD and the end of shift before clocking out. Clocks out after approval from MOD.
• Picks up all trash and dumps trash and cans in proper dumpster.
• Carries out any task or job suggested by managers or those that are necessary to keep our standards of quality and those that are needed to keep our guests happy.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, refrigeration, floors, tables, and all storage areas.
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the Management.
• Assist in the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies based on the pars provided by Management.
• Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
• Filling in for absent staff as needed.
• Assisting with special events as needed.
• Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting and in a timely manner.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
• Understands and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty.
